As we have noted, West Dunbartonshire is not the biggest Council in the country. However, for the aspiring Head of Service with a real commitment to improving and transforming Public Services there is much to offer.
You will be part of a Departmental Senior Management Team which will assist in providing clear strategic direction and ensuring a renewed focus on the delivery of integrated, high quality services and secure continuous improvement in every aspect of our work. The challenge is not insignificant and you will have responsibility for assisting in setting strategic direction, local and national initiatives, motivating and inspiring staff as well as providing direction in relation to your individual areas of service. There is a strong emphasis on partnership working and you will be expected to lead your teams to work in conjunction with colleagues across the Council and other stakeholders in the West Dunbartonshire area and throughout Scotland.
